Raiding
How to be a kick ass raider. from beginner to expert
Raiding is one of the most important elements of the game. It should be noted that even a beginner raiding level 1-9 vacant castles will bring in atleast an extra 25k in resources per day. All it takes is clicking a castle. Now lets talk about how to do it successfully.....
Getting started
You need silent ones. 200-300 are recomended. If you think that is too many, then just wait until you scout a castle and your 50 silent ones dont comeback and you still dont know whats there. Use these to spy successfully and find out what troops (if any) are inside and how many resources are there. In the begining silent ones can be expensive to upgrade. Its recomended to upgrade them to level 10-15 at first, and then re-visit upgrading them once you have discovered calvalry units.
look for castles you think are in-active and visit them. Look around their castle grounds for signs like castle guards on the ground Or a lack of any new buildings that may have come out. check out their player profile and see if it looks active or empty. Now you know everything except for what troops they may have out and what resources they are hiding.
Beginners should stay away from leagued castles and higher leveled players.
Once you have a good target for raid, send high carry capacity and speedy troops to do the dirty work. Wyverns are by far the best raid units and dragons work good as well. If you have not discovered or won any in the BG's then calvalry is ok or just use whatever you have available. The faster they return with the loot, the faster you can get them back out there and more loot you are bringing in. This is assuming the target is empty of troops, other wise send everything you can to get the strongest win.
Raid Contacts
Whenever you discover a vacant/farm castle, you should add it to your in-game contacts. Try and discover new farms all the time and build your list of contacts

Once you select a castle for contacts, you will need to decide what type of contact they are. Here raid is highlighted. You can also type in notes about your contact, like when the last time you raided was or any conflict you had and when.
This castle will now appear in your keeps contacts list
You will want to put a long list together as shown in example three. The more you have the better. You can only raid for a total of 50k of resources from a player each week so you need to keep who you are raiding fresh. As you become stronger, start replacing your low level raids with higher level ones. Once you have a good solid list of 30-50 or so raid castles, then you can just scroll down them hitting each one in order and maximizing your raid production for the week.
How to get more than 50k resources in a single raid
This is known as "The caravan trick". Basically the entire game works on a resource calculator. Battle grounds, raiding, it all calculates from resources. In player to player calculating the rule is NOT that you can only take 50k of resources from a player, its that a total of 50k of resources positive or negative can be distributed between two players. So if you send a friend 50k of resources it will then tell you that you have reached your limit. But, if that same player sends you 20k in resources back, then he/she has reset your calculator from -50k to -30k and you can then send them another 20k. This law also applies to raiding.
So how can you use this to your benefit? The caravan trick is very simple. First, to get the most from a raid you must be sure that there is 50k to take, that your troops can carry atleast 78k and that you have not raided them yet that week. Now, you send your raid and wait until there is only about 15-20 seconds before it lands. Then send all the resources you can to them. This tricks the game into thinking that you have off set the calculator. As soon as your raid lands, cancel your caravans, you will have only 30 seconds from the time you send them to cancel so be careful. Now you have raided for more than 50k in resources.
Get 98k+ on a single raid
This is a guarded secret among top raiding players, but not for D.O.O.M.. Once you understand how the game calculates, it makes perfect sense. All you need to do is find that castle to raid just like in the caravan trick, and send it maximum caravans (preferably food) and let your caravans deliver it this time. So now if you delivered 24k in food you are positive 74k in the games calculator. Now send your raid and 15-20 seconds before it hits send another max caravan. lets say you sent 24k again. Now you are positive 98k on the calculator. your raid hits, you cancel your caravans and now you just got 98k in a single raid! Thats almost double the limit!
