Battle Grounds
Understanding how battlegrounds work
To master the battle grounds, You will first need to understand that the entire game works on a resource calculator.
Everything won in the game, be it resources from raiding or rewards for completion of battle grounds, is figured by this resource calculator.
when figuring your earnings in a battle ground the game calculates the resources that each troop of yours cost that died in battle, adds it all up and then determines your payout.
The BG Calculator
Each battle ground has different levels of payout and each one has a minimum and a maximum payout. Defense and offensive battle grounds work on a separate calculator.
Both offensive and defensive battle grounds are found in your Eagles Nest.

Each troop you lose in a defensive battle ground adds to your defensive calculator until you receive a reward. This means that if you attack 2 different defensive battle grounds and don't finish them OR do not receive a reward then ALL troops lost have been added to your defensive calculator and will go toward your next defensive reward.
So, lets go through some examples of how this works:
You have attacked a lvl. 34 and 22 defensive battle ground but did not complete them. Then you complete a lvl. 4 defensive battle ground and collect the reward. This is not a good thing, because your troop losses from the lvl. 34 and the lvl 22 have added up and what you got was the lvl. 4's maximum pay-out and now your defensive calculator just reset.
You have attacked a lvl. 27 and lvl. 28 offensive battle ground but did not complete them yet. Now you finish a lvl. 34 offensive battle ground and collect the reward. This is a good thing, because your troop losses from the lvl. 27 and the lvl. 28 counted toward your reward. This means you just got a maximum pay-out on a lvl. 34 and now your offensive calculator resets.
The battle ground trick
The battle ground trick has been around longer than people have understood the battle grounds. Perhaps discovered by total accident, it is the standard for all great players of Stormfall to collect big.
Note the globe on every battle ground in your eagles nest.
The globe estimates the amount of damage you have caused in that particular battle ground. This globe shows a battle ground that has yet to be attacked.
In the battle ground trick (which makes perfect sense once you understand the BG calculator) you will want to hit 3 battle grounds. One of your high level battle grounds and two of your medium level battle grounds and get all of them to this globe level without completing.
(remember now that you know the calculator, you want all three to be offense or all three to be defense in order for this to work properly)
Then, finish off your higher level battle ground and get your maximum payout!
