Caravan Trick:
Once you have sent a raid, click the icon on the castle you are raiding "send resources" and prepare to send that castle a max load (usually food). Click "send" once there is 15 seconds til your raid hits and then cancel your caravans as soon as your raid is completed (you have 50 seconds to do this). This tricks the game into thinking the enemy castle has more resources than it actually does allowing you to collect more than the 50k max resources.

Pikes and Archers to the rescue!!
The whole point of competeing in the battle grounds is to gain experiance points and high-end troops. Don't send troops you cant make yet into a battle ground unless you know for sure your getting the "big reward" with very minimal losses. Think of it as trading up. Trading a few thousand Pikemen or Archers for 60 dragons and exp. is a great deal.
Your Raid Force
One thing you will need to be a successful raider is you own special raid troops. A good raid force consists of fast troops that can carry a hefty load. Dont waste your time sending Pikemen and Paladins off on a raid, They may not return before sundown. Instead, set aside some of the high end troops you won in the battleground and designate them your raid force (100 Wyverns and a few Dragons is a great start). They will return to your castle with a bountiful loot in less than half the time.
Settlements Made easy
Taking and holding a premium settlement can be down right impossible. especially sapphire mines. But with the help of friends its literally atleast 1/2 the headache. New settlements come out on Fridays, you can try to catch one open and take it with no more than a Wraith. But someone is gonna be gunning for those good ones. Find the league mate(s) closest to you and ask if they want to share it with you. They can send reinforcements straight to the settlement and help you defend it. Then work out a time for you to switch control so they can collect also. With team work, you can easily split the profits of a sapphire mine or iron pit.
No food? No problem.
If you run out of food at your castle, your troops will begin to desert you. No worries, if they are in the catacombs they cant escape. So just keep them locked up until your food situation is under control and you wont have a problem.

If I send my troops as reinforcements to another player do they eat that players food or mine?
They still eat food from home.
If my troops are in a beacon am I still feeding them?
